The Beginnings

In 1999, Dr. Baroudi established a cardiology clinic with a vision to provide the best cardiac care to all patients gulf coast who needed advanced healthcare to help reduce the high cardiac mortality and complication rate from heart disease, particularly, coronary artery disease, while adhering to his high moral principles and the highest medical ethics standards. Coast Heart Institute came to existence, and our thrilling journey started.

1999-2015

Through providing an unparalleled, personalized patient care, Coast Heart Institute quickly built its name and gained patients trust throughout our gulf coast community to become one of the busiest, most reputable clinics in south Mississippi. We raised the bar on quality of care and turned our values and ethics from a statement into a workplace culture, building a work family that took care our big gulf coast family.

2015 – Ongoing

In 2015, we contracted with Memorial hospital at Gulfport (MHG) to provide our healthcare services under Memorial’s umbrella. This helped us integrate more closely with MHG’s healthcare system, share access to healthcare records with its departments, and primary care and specialty clinics, and provide a more seamless continuity of care for our patients who see other healthcare providers within MHG’s system.

OUR SERVICES

24/7 Emergency Service

Our doctors are available 24/7. In a case of medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you have a known or suspected heart condition, you can ask the ER doctor to consult with a cardiologist in Dr. Baroudi’s group (Coast Heart Institute).

General Checkup

Starting with a doctor’s visit at one of our clinics, starts a full, comprehensive evaluation of you heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular) system. The evaluation can be triggered by the presence of a relevant complaint (symptoms), appearance of signs indicative of CV disease, or referral by another healthcare provider in a clinic or a hospital floor or emergency room.

Basic Diagnostics

Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is our basic diagnostic tool that every new patient, or existing heart patients who experience changes in their condition, must have. An EKG can provide a plethora of information that, when combined with review of sign, symptoms and physical examination, might be all certain subsets of individuals need.

Advanced Diagnostics

Typically, heart disease diagnostic tests provide different pieces of information. Oftentime, multiple tests are orders simultaneously or in sequence to provide the information need to diagnose a heart or blood vessels condition, and help guide its management. Our healthcare providers follow established, scientific trial-based, guidelines when they recommend any test, medical treatment and or procedure. Of the commonly utilized advanced diagnostic tests are: stress test, ultrasound (echo), tilt table, diagnostic catheterization.

Medical/Interventional Therapy

In addition to lifestyle changes, many classes of medications can be used to stabilize or improve heart disease and quality of life. Several interventional procedures can be performed to achieve this goal such as heart catheterization with placement of a metal stent to open blocked heart arteries, placement of a medical device to regulate the heartbeats (pacemaker) or provide Internal shock in case of a life threatening emergency (defibrillator), trans-catheter replacement of a valve (TAVR)

Follow-up

In many cases, heart disease develops over the course of many years, well before symptoms or felt the patient, and lasts for the life of the patient. Therefore, long-term follow up and consultation with other specialists when needed, such as when a dental procedure or surgery is to be scheduled, is essential. Cardiovascular disease management is often focused on providing the best management of each medical conditions on continuing basis. Some commonly prescribed medicines require biannual review of lab results even if there are no symptoms or complaints.

Frequently Asked Questions?

How to book a doctor appointment?

You can be referred to see us by another healthcare provider, such as your primary care physician or an emergency room doctor, or you can contact us directly to schedule an appointment.

You can call us on (228) 863-5211 or use our online appointment form (see button below) to schedule, reschedule, or cancel your appointment. Form submissions are received, and followed up on, by the office manager, typically within 24 hours.

You can select the healthcare provider to see, or leave it to our staff to decide based on availability.

How long would I have to wait?

This depends on the physician your are scheduled to see. Some have same week availability, others already have full schedule for weeks or months to come. If no physician is defined in the referral or appointment request, we take the reason for the visit and the symptoms as a general guidance as to how urgent the visit might be. When necessary, we try and schedule within 48 business hours.

How much would it cost for general checkup?

Billing is done by Memorial Hospital at Gulfport (MHG). After the visit, the billing department at Memorial Hospital reviews the health records and submits charges to the insurance companies based primarily on the level of complexity of the condition. A copayment may be due at the time of the visit, depending on your insurance plan. Self-pay individuals are expected to make an estimated payment upfront. However, no one shall be declined a doctor visit at our clinic because they can’t pay at the time of the visit. After the visit Payment arrangements can be made with the hospital before or after the doctor’s visit.

What is e-visit and telehealth?

We use the two terms, e-visit and telehealth, interchangeably to mean having a virtual visit with your healthcare provider over a audio and video call. You do not need to come to our clinic, or leave home, for this type of visit. Approval for this kind of visits varies between insurances.

Is there any online appoint form?

Yes, please see below

Testimonials

Easy personality to relate to. Highest professional standards and care. Takes his work very serious but also very relatable.

Linda

Dr Baroudi, staff and N.P. are amazing! Dr Baroudi quite literally saved my life. He recognized the signs of a female heart attack and saved me from a 90% blockage in my widow maker. Other hospitals sent me home with warnings about my caffeine intake. Thanks to Dr Baroudi and his knowledge that women and men don’t have the same symptoms regarding cardiac arrest, I can sing his praises every day!!!

Elizabeth

Dr. Baroudi is an amazing doctor. He is a caring person, very thorough in finding the proper diagnosis for his patients and will go out of his way to see a patient when needed. My father recomended him to me years ago. My husband and I are patients of his and I have been one for many years. We highly recommend Dr Baroudi.
